Warehouse Team Member 1st Shift - Frytown Distribution

Open Gates Group is a family of companies located near Kalona, IA.  We care about our employees and take pride in our community. To help our community's farmers, we built a creamery and then 10 other food industry-related businesses.  Today, we help source, produce, sell & transport Midwestern products to 3,500+ stores nationwide.  Our dairy products are minimally processed and come straight from Midwest family farms surrounding our creameries. We are currently seeking a Warehouse Team Member to join Frytown Distribution, a member of the Open Gates Group family of companies.

 Our Warehouse Team Member is responsible for performing physical tasks in the materials management function including picking orders, shipping and receiving, inventory control, and delivery of products.  Typical shift hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Occasional weekend work as required.

What you will get to do...
  • Pick orders for external and internal customers in a cold storage environment.
  • Load and unload trucks and receive materials in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the internal transport of products to Open Gates facilities as needed.
  • Assist in product pick-up and local deliveries when needed.
  • Participate in physical inventory.
  • Maintain accurate records of work procedures as directed.
  • Maintain a safe warehouse environment and a clean, sanitary work area.
  • Perform routine cleaning duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What you will need...
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Clean driving record.
  • 2 years of warehouse and pallet jack/forklift experience desired.
  • Able to perform work in cold temperatures (ie: a cooler) for several hours per day.
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs repetitively and stand for 8 hours per day.
  • Strong attention to detail and basic math and reasoning skills.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency with Google Suite.
  • Flexible and willing to learn and grow in the role.
  • Ability to obtain a Class A CDL license preferred.
  • Ability to perform work in cold temperatures (ie: a cooler) for several hours per day.
  • Good attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and alignment with our mission, vision, values & operating principles.
