Organic Dairy Intake Receiving Operator

Our dairy products are minimally processed and come straight from Midwest family farms surrounding our creameries. We are currently seeking an Organic Dairy Intake Receiver to join Kalona Farms and Farmers Creamery, members of the Open Gates Group family of companies.


The Dairy Intake Receiving Operator is responsible for unloading trucks of raw milk, separating, and
transferring it into tanks/trucks by completing manual hose hookups from the truck to the tank. This
position supports day-to-day production operations at Farmers Creamery. Standard hours for this
position are 11am-7pm, Monday-Friday
. We are hiring for second shift now. CDL Class A license preferred but not required.

What you will get to do...
  • Unload trucks of raw milk and transfer it into holding tanks.
  • Operate dairy processing equipment and separation technology.
  • Perform documented Quality Tests on the raw milk in accordance to regulatory guidelines prior to unloading.
  • Track milk loads and record results.
  • Assist in the internal transport of milk to Open Gates facilities when needed.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary work area.
  • Flexible hours including evenings and weekends are required.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
What you will need...
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Clean driving record.
  • CDL A driver’s license and Tanker endorsement preferred.
  • Able to read and record instrument data with attention to detail.
  • Versatile and able to be cross-trained in various production roles.
  • Able to follow directions with minimal supervision and a sense of urgency.
  • Perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including: lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces.
  • Work scheduled shifts, including daily overtime or overtime outside of your regular scheduled hours as required (more than 40 hours per week).
  • Adhere to all safety standards and wear all necessary personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, safety glasses, hair/beard net and gloves when required.
  • Work with allergens that might be present in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment.
  • Team oriented with a focus of working in a fast paced, collaborative environment.
